Feel the rush

GoldRush Ballito relaunched last Friday, with a red carpet event promising the ultimate VIP experience. Eager gamblers flocked to the Ballito Junction casino for a night of gaming, good food and great drinks. Offering a short distraction from the array of gambling machines, the crowd was serenaded by the talented lady soul, Kayla Saunder.

Let the good times roll

Best known for their music, tapas and pizzas, Bourbon Hub in Salt Rock celebrated their first anniversary with a night of dancing, pool playing and prize giving. Attracting a crowd of both young and old, the cocktail bar was the place to be and be seen. Customers enjoyed a night of gambling, mingling and catching up as part of the milestone celebration.

Planting spring!

Spring arrived in a blue BBS Mica truck full of happy little flowers and a tree to plant at Dolphin Coast Pre-Primary for Arbor Day this week.

The circus comes to town

The appearance of McLaren’s Circus on the Dolphin Coast caused mixed reactions, with hundreds heading out to enjoy the show while a vocal minority firmly opposed its use of animals. The circus performed in both Tongaat and Ballito, before moving on to KwaDukuza.

It was a romantic evening of sophisticated glamour at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre as Cookin, Love Laugh and the Delish Sisters wowed brides and grooms to be to #sayyestoBallito. Ballito’s best in the bridal industry showed off their skills at the exclusive wedding event with their fairy tale spread covering everything from classy gins at the bar to magical wedding dresses and of course food and florals to die for.

Outstanding performances were enjoyed by packed audiences at the Swish Studios annual concert at the Linc Campus last Thursday.

A ‘berry’ fun time at the Strawberry Festival

The fields at Cappeny Estate were picked clean this weekend when more than 2500 festival-goers descended on the Ballito Strawberry Festival on Saturday, devouring the sweet red berries and enjoying entertainment galore.

A cup of Christianity

It was all flowers and festive vibes at last week’s New Beginnings ladies meeting at Braeside Wedding and Function Venue. Grace Hill Church Hillcrest pastor Thuks Khanyile gave the ladies some inspiring food for thought and enjoyed a chat with them over tea and cake.

The glory of creation

Painters, photographers and sculptors from up and down the North Coast put their work on display at the All Souls Anglican Church over the weekend. Visitors to the God’s Creation exhibition at the church were amazed by the variety and quality of works on display showcasing the glory of creation itself.

Next generation entrepreneurs

Young entrepreneurs from across the Dolphin Coast set up stalls at the Young Entrepreneurs Market held at Sugar Rush Park on Saturday.
