Every December, holidaymakers descend on normally peaceful and easy going coastal roads as they make their way to the sea for some much needed R&R.
Nothing is more frustrating than being caught on the highway in a massive traffic jam due to an accident or dreaded roadworks.
It can’t be avoided, say you? We think it can.
So here are four Twitter accounts, specially for KZN, you should follow and check regularly while on your road trip, to make sure none of your tanning time is taken up by anything other than a trip to the bar:
This account uses real-time CCTV feeds from in and around Durban to let their followers know exactly where the delays will be.

This account relies more on feedback from Twitter users, but is still very effective for when you are in a rush.

More of an ‘accident watcher’ account, but definitely worth a follow, they hear about accidents long before they become traffic jams.

The boys that bring back stolen cars know a thing or two about staying up to date on traffic conditions. This account is so close to ‘live’ it’s scary.
