North Coast Artists welcome guest demo artist at August meeting

North Coast Artists welcome Kim Pereira as their demo guest artist for their August meeting.

This will be on Saturday, August 12 at 9am in the Hall of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2 Newport Avenue, Glenashley.

Kim is an oil painter who has exhibited her work at Artspace, KZN Gallery, Bellvue Gallery, Longmynd Gallery and The Gallery in Westville.

She started painting 7 years ago attending classes at her cousin Dee Donaldson’s Studio and here has been no stopping her creativity since.

She runs three weekly classes for beginners and last August started “Artnites” – a social art evening held once a month at a local restaurant encouraging potential artists to try creating their own artwork.

When prepping her canvas Kim likes to start with a charcoal sketch and often a bright acrylic wash to alleviate the “white fright”of a new canvas.

As always the public are invited to attend for a nominal fee of R40 which includes tea and refreshments.
