ENTER: The Orphan Fund Bass Competition 2016

Dudley Pringle Dam has been closed to the public for many years and is rumoured to hold an impressive number of very big bass.

Not only can you hook R5000 at the 2016 North Coast Courier Orphan Fund Bass competition sponsored by Seeff, but with Basil Manning Active Fishing Gear you can also reel in an Assassin Tempest Rod and a Ripple Ash lure hamper.

Basil Manning Active Fishing Gear in Ballito is offering you the chance to win a top of the line Assassin Tempest Rod and a Ripple Ash lure hamper.

To enter, simply buy any bass tackle from now until Saturday afternoon at Basil Manning and put your till slip in the box in store.

The winning till slip will be drawn at the prize giving of the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund bass fishing competition on Sunday, September 25.

In order to claim the prize, the winner will need to be present at the draw.

This year’s bass fishing competition will take place at Dudley Pringle Dam – which is rumoured to contain a few truly magnificent specimens.

This is the first time the competition is being held at Dudley Pringle and the bigger dam will allow for non-motorised water craft, making it ideal for small inflatables and fishing skis.

No kick-boats are allowed, as no dangling legs are permitted in the water due to the dam’s rules. In keeping with being environmentally friendly and as fish-friendly as possible, the fish will be measured, instead of weighed this ear.

All ages are welcome, as there will be a junior and senior category.

The Ballito Lions will be selling boerewors rolls and cool drinks and there will be ample, safe parking as well as toilet facilities.

Registration starts at 5.30am, with lines up at 10.30am, followed by a prize giving.

There will be loads of prizes, ranging from the biggest fish caught to lucky draws.

The Specialised Rescue Unit will be there to keep an eye on the safety of the anglers.

Entry fees are R100 for bank anglers and R200 for paddle ski or small inflatable paddle boat anglers.
