Meet the Win A Home Season 5 Judges!

You have met the incredible design contestants, Rekopile & Koketso of Team R&K, Kehumile & Nicholas of Team Contrast Control and Melissa & Sinead of Team Perma Peeps.

You know where the stunning location is of Win a Home Season 5’s R3 Million Grand Prize apartment at Balwin Properties’ brand new Paardevlei Lifestyle Estate in Somerset West and now it is time to meet the judges who will be deciding the fate of our Design Duo teams.

This year our judges are all renowned industry names whose diverse expertise and skills are guaranteed to make the standard of this year’s design challenge the highest yet.

The first judge is the CMO or chief marketing officer of one of our headline sponsors – Private Property. Bryan Courtney’s knowledge of the real estate industry is a core factor in his selection as a judge. His experience of what makes an apartment increase in value will be important in his judging as the contestants ultimately have to consider which features to add to their units in order to increase the resale value.

Private Property has the longest standing relationship with Win a Home with this being the fifth year that they have been part of the show so it was natural to have Bryan join this year’s panel of judges.

The second judge is another big name in the property game, this time in the development side of property. Stephen Brookes is a name synonymous with the development of estates. The CEO and one of the founders of Balwin Properties, the company behind the development of the stunning Paardevlei Lifestyle Estate and sponsor of our three penthouses. This property veteran has had an unbridled love for architecture and interior design since his day as a boy who loved building with Lego blocks. This passion will make Stephen a key member of the judging panel.

The third judge is the architect powerhouse known as Buhle Mathole. Buhle is the owner and company director at Kabu Design Architects, a renowned Johannesburg based architectural firm. Buhle has eleven years of experience as an architect having worked at other firms before establishing her vision for Kabu in 2007.

Her experience in the residential sector is what made her a key addition to this year’s judging panel.
