An elderly Ballito couple are shaken up after they were tied up by three armed men during a house robbery in David Place this afternoon (Saturday).

The couple’s family asked for their names to be be ommitted as some of their children have not yet been informed.

The elderly man and woman are both in their 80’s.

A Ballito Neighbourhood Watch (BNW) committee member who alerted emergency services said she received a call from the tenants who were in the process of moving into the outside cottage of the house in David Place, when the robbery took place.

“As the tenant drove toward the house, she noticed two cars speeding off. She went into the main house to find the owners tied up.

“The woman had managed to untie her hands but the man was still tied up.

“The tenant called me and I sent out a message on Whatsapp to the BNW group and security companies.”

“We are glad that they are okay and we are grateful for the quick response from emergency services.”
