The Rotary Club of Zimbali officially handed over funds raised from the recent Miss Ballito Pageant to two beneficiaries – the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund and the Save the Rhino organisation. The event which also included an information session took place on Wednesday, July 20 at the Zimbali Resort.
While the Ballito Pro was in full swing at the beach shoppers were treated to a stoke-filled surfing themed family fun day at Tiffany’s Shopping Centre on Saturday.
The North Coast Courier office transformed into a cupcake-decorating factory this morning as staff members iced and decorated more than 200 cupcakes for the children of Smile With Us community centre in Frasers, as part of our Mandela Day initiative. The Orphan Fund assists in providing daily meals for the children.
The Dolphin Coast’s ninja impis came out on Sunday to test their mettle on the Holla Trails at Sugar Rush Park. Course designers Dwain Swiegers, Justin Christoforus and Tim Lyle thoroughly enjoyed seeing the participants giving it their all.
The sun was out to greet shoppers for the Sugar Rush market on Saturday. There was plenty of yummy food on sale for those who had worked up an appetite during the ParkRun. The market is on every Saturday from 7am to 12pm.

There were food, clothing and curio stalls to delight and amaze, a half-pipe for the avid skaters and adrenalin junkies, free concerts at Salt Rock Beach, cook-offs, wine-tastings, motorcycle displays and so much fun on the beach that you would almost have been forgiven for forgetting about the surfing on display
