Stangerite honoured by Eskom

Stanger born Kishorkumar Sundergiyan was honoured for his excellent work by Eskom recently.

Former Stangerite and current senior supervisor at Eskom Dundee, Kishorkumar Sundergiyan was honoured by the electricity provider recently.

Sundergiyan received both the Customer Satisfaction and Guardian of the Year 2017 (employee of the year) awards for the KZN operating unit at a glitzy awards evening in Durban last month.

Sundergiyan received the Customer Satisfaction award for leading the effort to restore power to over 10 000 homes in the Emondlo Municipality after a storm took out three towers.

He and his team managed to get electricity back by the very next day.

The selection of Guardian of the Year was based on constant good performance over the course of the financial year.

Sundergiyan received this award due to his passion for his work, his knowledge and understanding of procedures and safety requirements, his relationship with colleagues and employees and his ability to take the lead in difficult situations.

“I dedicate these awards to my late dad who passed away on July 15, 2017,” Sundergiyan told The Courier.
