Restaurant review – Casa Bella

Vegetarian lasagna

Casa Bella has been one of the restaurants at The Ballito Junction that I have been wanting to try for a while now. I love the look of the venue – they have done an amazing job.

I have spoken to a few people who have eaten there and have had enjoyable meals. The one common denominator everyone mentioned was the complementary bread rolls that you get.

They seem to be a massive hit. Unfortunately our waiter didn’t bring us any even though I saw other tables receive theirs, so was a little disappointed with that!

However, the rest of the meal was enjoyable. I’m a sucker for signature so I had their Casa Bella Gorgonzola pizza. They do pull off some outstanding pizzas. The base isn’t overly thin which I like, it has a good crust and you can see that they are doing a Naple’s style pizza.

The toppings are of good quality and there was more than enough.

My wife enjoyed a vegetarian lasagna, I was so happy to see them move away from the old style white lasagna dishes, instead it is dished up in a bowl.

It just presents so much better. The lasagna was good, with a nice selection of vegetables. The only thing I would like to have maybe seen was a bit more sauce.

Our children had a pizza and Penne Al Fredo which they both enjoyed.

Besides us not getting our rolls and one waiter issue which would have been easily corrected if he had written down our orders, the meal was good.

I am looking forward to going back as I think they have a lot to offer.
