North Coast cop shot – critical

A policeman was shot in the back and is fighting for his life.

An off-duty policeman from Sundumbili SAPS is fighting for his life in hospital after he was robbed of his service pistol and shot.

“Two men approached the policeman from behind, grabbed his pistol and shot him in the back,” said Dylan Meyrick from IPSS Medical Rescue.

The bullet exited the man’s body through the stomach.

The man was rushed to Ethekwini Hospital after neither Alberlito, nor Umhlanga was able to accept the patient as they had no neurosurgeon available.
