One dead, one injured in N2 tragedy

The vehicles were crumpled in the aftermath of the accident.

IPSS Rescue and Netcare 911 responded to an accident involving two vehicles on the N2 South Bound between Mandini toll and the Zinkwazi area at around 5pm yesterday.

According to an IPSS spokesperson, paramedics found two badly damaged vehicles leaving a man already dead and a woman critically injured. The injured person was cut from one of the vehicles by members of IPSS Rescue using jaws of life.

The patient was then transported to Victoria hospital by IPSS rescue with a Netcare 911 paramedic on board.

The hospital has confirmed the woman has survived the night.

The cause of the accident remains the subject of police investigation.
